Are
you irresistibly drawn to those walls and racks of rainbow-hued
beads? The colors and varieties are so wonderful that it's hard
to resist picking up a tube or hank every now and then—even
if you have no idea what to do with it. Well, this booklet is the
answer. in it you'll learn most of the basic off-loom bead-weaving
stitches as you make striking bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.
Stitches include flat and tubular peyote, brick stitch and brick
stitch increases, flat and tubular Ndebele, herringbone, square
stitch, netting, twisted fringe, and beaded backstitch embroidery.
Most of the projects call for large-sized seed
beads because it's a lot easier to learn a new technique if you
aren't squinting to find the holes in your beads. You should be
able to complete most of these big-bead projects in three or four
hours.
Seed beads can provide a great deal of pleasure
at very little cost. And when you know how to do the basic stitches,
you'll find that their quiet, repetitive process is a soothing,
calming antidote to life's stresses.
